The Leif de Leeuw Band is the ultimate Southern jam band in Europe. Leif has been named the best blues-rock guitarist in the Benelux for eight consecutive years, and Sem Jansen is the winner of the TV show Hit the Road.
With six members strong, the band delivers a show filled with blazing guitar solos, two dueling drummers, and roaring Hammond organ sounds, where improvisation in storytelling songs takes center stage. Over more than ten years, the band has built an international reputation, touring across Europe, America, and China, and has released six albums to date. Every song allows for improvisation, making no two performances the same. Their sound is a blend of rock, blues, Americana, country, and Southern rock, with genuine lyrics and a delightful ’70s vibe.
After a turbulent period marked by a pandemic, a third Allman Brothers tour, and the Who The Fck is Britt* tour with Sem Jansen, it’s now time for an exciting new Leif de Leeuw Band album.
For inspiration, the Leif de Leeuw Band turned to American acts like Gov’t Mule, The Allman Brothers Band, Blackberry Smoke, Chris Stapleton, and The Wood Brothers. They sought the perfect marriage between great songs and adventurous improvisations that truly shine during live performances.
