JAVA|WEBSTER
Guitarist Erwin Java has an insane track record. He was part of White Honey, Herman Brood’s Wild Romance, King of the World and no less than 25 years of Cuby & the Blizzards, among others. From 2015 through 2022, he was additionally the lead in Johan Derksen’s theater performances. In his long career, Java has been regularly seen and featured on Dutch TV.
Sheffield-born vocalist/guitarist Sean Webster is blessed with a distinctive raw voice and has a patent on melodic, bluesy guitar playing. He has toured both Europe and the U.S. in his career. For example, he appeared on television in Austin (Texas) and did several live sessions for BBC Radio 2. In the Netherlands he appeared (with Erwin Java’s Travel Party) regularly in the TV show Veronica Inside, was a finalist in the talent show We Want More (2021) and a finalist in the talent show Talent Scouts (2023). So far, Webster released 7 albums and love brought him to his current hometown of Giethoorn in 2012.
Together, Erwin Java and Sean Webster have written and produced a new album, “JAVA|WEBSTER.” This partnership was formed after the 2 musicians clicked with each other while collaborating on the theater show “The sound of the Blues & Americana.” Since this tour was plagued by lockdowns a few times due to the covid epidemic, Java and Webster decided to put those periods to good use and started writing new songs of their own. Lyrics and music on “Java|Webster” therefore come from both of them, and of course the “blues” is the common thread. The album contains ten songs ranging in style from blues, ballads, rock and soul. Characteristic are Webster’s gritty, lived-in voice and bluesy guitar parts.
