Krissy Matthews is a British-Norwegian guitarist and singer known for his fearless energy, genre-crossing style and fiery live shows. What began at age three with a Roy Orbison song onstage with his father, quickly turned into a remarkable journey. By twelve, he was jamming with John Mayall; not long after, he performed with Jeff Healey and received advice from BB King.
With over 1000 shows across the UK, Europe, China and Russia, Krissy has shared the stage with acts like Joe Bonamassa, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Toto and Beth Hart. He’s been a key member of the Hamburg Blues Band since 2015, backing legends such as Chris Farlowe, Arthur Brown and Maggie Bell.
His latest release, Krissy Matthews & Friends (2024, Ruf Records), is an ambitious 24-track album featuring a star-studded cast from across the blues and rock world, including members of Clawfinger, Inga Rumpf, Dennis Chambers and Big Daddy Wilson. Blending blues, rock, jazz, metal and more, Krissy proves once again that he refuses to be boxed in.
