After years of creating groundbreaking original music, singer-guitarist Gerrit VELDMAN now presents a serious “Vintage Project.” This deep dive revisits the golden era of his musical roots: the late ’60s to early ’70s. A tribute to the iconic years from 1965 to 1975.
From Jimi Hendrix to The Beatles and CCR, and from Rory Gallagher to The Doors and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, VELDMAN Vintage Project delivers these classics at an exceptional level. Gerrit teamed up with bassist Tenny Tahamata and drummer Mathieu van Uden, who have toured with him in recent years. Their chemistry inspired him to include longtime friend Roland Bakker (keyboardist for Julian Sas Band) in the lineup. Roland was immediately on board, perfectly complementing the group with his deep connection to this music.
These seasoned musicians bring a wealth of experience: Gerrit is consistently ranked among the Benelux’s top 10 blues/rock guitarists, reaching 4th place in 2023. Roland is a regular on Walter Trout’s European tours.
